MOSCOW, Dec 22 (PRIME) -- Companies affiliated with Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) have acquired Russia’s third largest railway operator NefteTransService that focuses on oil transportation, Kommersant business daily reported on Friday quoting five market sources.
A source familiar with the matter told Kommersant that the deal was closed on Thursday, while three other sources said that the Federal Antimonopoly Service had greenlit the acquisition.
According to the business daily, NefteTransService would be bought by closed-end investment fund Kinetik Kapital. The fund is not formally affiliated with SUEK, but it received a loan for acquisition of the operator from SUEK.
Founded in 2006, NeftreTransService owns 63,100 wagons directly and manages 68,300 wagons more, and its shareholders were Vyacheslav Aminov, Vadim Aminov, and Alexei Likhtenfeld.
SUEK and the Federal Antimonopoly Service did not respond to a request for comment, while NefteTransService declined to comment.
